Havana Airport

We drive on. South America and a mysterious island in the Pacific are planned. Tickets already purchased. I think you will like our route. But this is the near future. Let’s go back to the present.

Leaving Cuba is not a pleasant experience. Airlines have found a way to cover the costs associated with delayed departures. It turns out that we fly out more than 6 hours later. Since yesterday, the flight schedule has changed and there is no question of a delay. Not good, you can’t buy anything at the airport. We are waiting for a hungry man.

We also had some problems with passport control. Unlike most airports we visited, here travelers leaving the island will be questioned by an immigration officer. I used the word “interrogation” on purpose because passport control looked like an interrogation. At some point, I was afraid that they would not let us off the island. They probably found out that we bought these two illegal boxes of cigars and we were going to go to jail. Fortunately, after we reported on each day spent in Havana, we declared that we did not establish closer contacts with Cubans and that we were tourists (stamps in passports helped), the official allowed us to cross the border. He looked after us for a long time as we headed for the gate. For a long time I felt shivers down my spine caused by a suspicious look.

I invite you to see the photos. All photos are available here. And if you liked it, click on the heart and share the post.
