In a jungle

We arrived in Flores in the evening. The journey in a small, cramped bus was not the most comfortable, but it was only a few hours. We crossed two borders. This is the route that illegal immigrants from the Dominican Republic travel to Mexico. That is why our documents have been very carefully checked and our names verified in the computer system. Fortunately, it quickly turned out that we are not hardened criminals wanted in all Central American countries.

On the way, we got a flat tire. Spare wheel? You are just an unnecessary burden. We drove a few kilometers on a slipper (oh it was shaking) to the nearest workshop. There they patched the hole quite quickly. A bucket of glue and scraps of old rubber, stuffed into the hole, made us go on quite quickly. We arrived at the place, to Flores, in the dark (here the sunset is very early). A city located on a lake, you can imagine flocks of mosquitoes, attracted by the abundance of exotic European blood.

We planned to spend the night in Tikal in a hotel located in the jungle, on the edge of the archaeological zone. Without any amenities, with tiny scorpions on the walls, but incredibly atmospheric. There is no electricity at the moment. We hear that it will be as it will be. In the morning we go to spend the sunrise and most of the day in the ruins. And for now, watch the video recorded during our previous visit. The local tarantulas are extremely friendly arachnids. But only during the day. At night, murderous instincts come out of them.
