Marek Pyramid-shaped buildings were built wherever advanced civilizations existed in ancient times. Inevitably, they stimulate the imagination. Especially since it’s a topic that sells very well. Is there any mystery hidden in the monumental structures in Teotihuacan? Everyone should answer this question for themselves.
Early in the morning we rented a car, planning above all a long drive to El Tajin, the mysterious city of pitches. You will learn more about it as soon as we get there. But the one who has not visited Teotihuacan has not been to Mexico. The pyramids look very different from what you might see in Yucatan. The ruins themselves make a monumental impression, but two huge pyramids? The 65-metre-high Pyramid of the Sun is climbed in instalments. It is impossible not to take breaks from time to time. Of course, this does not apply to tough guys, real machos who have to show their girlfriends that they can do it. Running to the top, they carefully hide the need for urgent medical help.
I do not recommend climbing to those who suffer from fear of heights and do not plan to cure themselves with the shock method. The stairs are very steep in places and the steps are high. You don’t have to look down when climbing to the top of the pyramid, but you can’t avoid it on the way back.
Being here, you may be interested in buying souvenirs. Focus on those that have been made from obsidian. You have a chance to find something really beautiful. However, don’t go crazy with shopping. Otherwise, on the way back to Poland, you may be surprised to have to pay for excess baggage.
